Original Surveys/Early 1800s'

http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/Visitors/OverviewSurveysPlatsAndFieldNotes.asp? If you look closely, on some of the plats the surveyor even drew in, fields , houses, particular land marks, like mounds, and in some cases "Indian villages".

Silvereagle, and I know how it feels. That is the way it is with plenty of us from those states where there were few records to begin with or in many cases they were lost or destroyed. Don't let it discourage you though. Some of the records have not all been added to the system yet and may be added later. Or, hopefully you can find them in other sources. In the old days Courthouse records etc. were frequent victim of courthouse fires set to intentionally destroy criminal records, so we are lucky to have as many records to survive as did. Only 25 states and DC are listed, but let's hope there are more to be added.
