Original Sovereign RF Shielding

I am in the process of adding a jack for a remote PP mod to my Sovereign. I notice that it doesn't have any RF shielding like I see in pictures of the GT. I can get some copper tape that I think would work. If I add this to the inside of the box, would it benefit me at all?
