Thanks in advance to any answers.

What current manufactured Tesoro search coil will work with the original 1980's Golden Sabre. If no current Tesoro coils are compatible will the Tesoro 8" coil covers at least fit on an original Golden stock 8".
Also it has an all metal toggle is that what pinpoints?

Thanks again.
Jason

Jason, the older Tesoros have a 5 pin coil like the newer detectors but I can't say if the newer ones will work. You just have to try one. Or maybe someone else here has tried and knows.
As far as pinpointing, you have to do the Tesoro wiggle over it. Swinging in ever smaller increments until you have it pinpointed. Its easy, don't worry.
Good hunting.

Thanks Bill for the kind reply.

Mike is dead on as have used all the older Tesoro notch units and speak from experience. Dead on pinpoint just go over it from two different directions in all metal. Honestly not a deep unit but likes gold rings and one of the most accurate pinpointing units I ever used...just do a little practice in the back yard.
Personally prefer the plus or 11 model as it has a high and low tone above and below the notch while the previous sabre only has one tone...
PS: nice part of it Tesoro still has parts for an oldie but goodie and does repair them if one goes down...

Not sure why you would need to switch to AM for pinpointing on these units as they were all motion detectors back then, either in silent search or AM.

Ditto on the above..... If that machine is anything like my '92(?) Golden Sabre II with 8" donut coil then PPing will be SPOT ON and target will be in the center of the hole...period. That machine is one coin shootin S.O.B. !!!! It's only weakness is in the depth department. I could not and would not ever get rid of mine......

I hope yours treats you as well as mine has treated me.........
