Original Fors CoRe

Been using my original Fors CoRe machine this last week. Really do like the machine, the physical package and the performance. It will find the goodies. I have the R2 and use that in the most dense iron sites ( utilizing the Iron Audio Volume and Tone Break features) and the Fors CoRe, I leave the 5.5 x 10 coil on it and use it for hunting areas that are a bit less filled with iron. Really like the 5.5 x 10 coil does a great job.

I was hoping that Nokta would have upgraded the Fors CoRe the same as they did the Racer to Racer 2. It could share coils with original CoRe and add the new features that the R2 received. If they did that they could just drop the "CoRe" name and simply call it the Fors Coin and that would fit in with their Fors Relic and Fors Gold machines....would make a nice trio. But isn't that big of a deal....I have the R2 to use when I want the added features.....I just like the physical package ( housing, grip etc) of the Nokta machines.

Managed to snag a 1892s Barber Dime, a GF 5 cent trade token and a no date Buffalo nickel these last few days with the Core.

Yah I agree mostly. I like the CoRe and don't really want to go to a Relic...I don't like the higher frequency machines in my area and I like the CoRe coils on the Pro. A higher frequency is not always an upgrade in performance for alot of people. Seems people are sold on 19Khz as some sort of magic unicorn horn but I like it better closer to 10-12 KHZ. I get it for some relic hunters who want itsy bitsy relics or even gold but general use and in my area the higher frequency has issues. When I ran the AKA machines I never used thew higher Freq coils I usualy stayed in 7Khz or maybe 12....but higher than that and the ground minerals made it a funny. Plus I don't like loosing sensitivity to silver and you most definitely loose when you get above 12KHZ.

But would be nice to have the functions they added to the Relic like the fast and deep modes and the expanded audio stuff....oh and nice to not have targets clumped into VDI 82.

Not that not having these extra functions is a big bummer to my dau but would be nice if they do update the CoRe some day.

On the other hand it is deep enough for now and since I mainly relic hunt the VDI issue is more of a minor annoyance than an issue that it may be for a coin hunter. Since it gets dug if it isn't iron...

Overall though probably one of the best machines in its price point that has come out in the past few years.

Thanks guys, lol ya the dog goes every wheres with me. He is my helper. Actually have a couple dogs, one female and the other a male. Like most females, she rolls her eyes when we get out to do some detecting and goes off to do her own thing like dig gopher /ground squirrel mounds etc. The male dog hangs right with me so we are kinda a detecting team :)

Great team there!----I'll bettcha anything you could train that dog to sniff out the targets for you!-----Nah, wait a minute---that wouldn't work--you would have to do the digging--it should be the other way around. ;)

azsh07,

I would mostly agree with you. I have hunted with a couple of the higher freq. machines and didn't care for them as relic hunters. The Relic is different. I'm guessing it's the processor? It does like the rusty, flat tin like the other high freq. units do. I need to spend more time with it, but I can say it performs different than other higher freq. relic units. Time will tell. I think it's a winner.
