Ordering a New DFX

I have had many dealings with Kellyco and they are first class, you will not be disappointed with them at all.

I ordered a new coil Sunday and it still has not shipped. I called Kellyco yesterday and was told it would ship on Monday for sure and I just checked my order on their web site and it says it is still sitting in their warehouse? I do not know how Kellyco operates, do I now have to call to have it actually ship or have someone else tell me it will? I am getting frustrated with the whole thing, don't like being told they will do something and it doesn't get done.

I ordered a DFX-300 from them awhile back. It took a few days to get here, but no longer than with any other company. Some sing their praises, some members of the prospecting club that I belong to can't stand them!

I've got no qualms with them, but I did order a 5" Excellerator II Pro coil from them that was supposed to work with my DFX-300 THAT DIDN'T ! But I tried it on my XLT and it works fine on that machine. I will be very careful about buying aftermarket stuff from now on. As a matter of fact I just bought an Eclipse 5.3 and an Eclipse DD Elliptical search coil for the DFX-300 ---- but went to the Dealer and tried each coil out before handing them the money!

I just got a package from kellyco today, opened it, they sent the lower rod and hardware to mount the coil but no coil. I called and they told me it was backordered? Why didn't they tell me a week ago when I called so I could have cancelled?? Then I asked the man when I could expect the coil and he said how could they know, the coils come from Europe, they don't know until the coils show up in Florida????? You have got to be kidding me!!, Kellyco has no idea when a shipment will arrive? Then he told me to call back in a week or two and see if it was in that is if I was still wanted it by then. They call this customer service? I think this is about the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I suppose they will charge me to send the totally useless lower rod back and charge me a restocking fee.

If you are squeeeeeeeeeezing pennies to get that dream machine, mail order can help. Seldom can local purchasing be beat though as a good dealer is in the hobby with you. Guess I'm lucky because the dealer I've been using for years gives me loaners, test coils to check out, occasionally alerts on special deals, and hassle free service to boot. Tellin' ya...buying local has benefits long past purchase. Original purchase price is also very fair and only a few bucks more than Kellyco (and NEVER excuses and restocking fees). Kellywhat?

I bought my detector from the local dealer but he didn't have any small coils in stock. I ordered the one from Kellyco thinking it would be here soon, they never told me that the coil I ordered was out of stock. Guess I should have waited until the local dealer got some coils in and not got mixed up with Kellyco. By local dealer I mean about an hour and a half drive away, that is the closest minelab dealer in this area.
