Ordered the BH Platinum on friday 3/9/12 from MetalDetectore.com for $299.00 free ship with some goodies. Now my fisher has a back up. I was going by what the reviews had to say, some good some bad but thats like any thing your going to have mixed veiws on it. I talked with sondra about some electrical problems they had in the past but she said all that has been taken care of.She also told me they now have 1/4 inch and 1/8th inch head phone jacks.She said this was a 2012 modle and all isues were addresd. I told her i was hesitant on ordering one because i did not want to get a bad unit. she told me in the begining when they were produced it's like any thing else first year worst year, But all the bugs have been worked out.I don't know if the price on them will go up or not being that MetalDetector.com bought them all up.On there web page it looks like it said sale is ending soon but i don't know. I down loaded the manule for it and printed it out so i can get a feel for the machine.I got my fingers crosed on this one hoping i did not make a mistake. In my other posts i was asking about the teknetics G2 thats what i wanted but the funds were not there, so i got the platinum, it looks close to the Tek 6000 any way.I hope this detector smiles on me.
 
I've had a Platinum for close to two years and had really good luck with it. It is light, has a huge display, and is easy on batteries.

Thanks wasp, this is the first BH that i have ever bought, I mainly bought it for a back up just in case. it should have been here today , detector elec. said 3/12/12 give or take so you know how that goes with shipping. Got home from work and did not see it on the deck out front of the house. If i had to sign for it i guess they would have left a note or somthing. Ran the manual off on the printer so i could get familiar with it. will let you guys know how i make out.:thumbup:
 
I got a BH Platinum for Christmas and I really like it. It does have some quirks. Like sometimes it quits detecting. It is still on. But, no beeps. So, I turn it off then back on and it works fine. The batteries are not a problem. I have two sets of rechargables( I use a 9v for my Garrett Pro Pointer) and I can hunt all day on one set.
 
gordon5jeff, now you got me nervouse about buying one, '' O , NO '' P.S. Have you ever dropped it or any thing or did it just start doing this out of the blue. ??
 
No dropping and maybe its just mine. It might do it one in a 3 hour hunt. Other than that I really like it. Do any other To any other Platinum owners, do you have this experience?
 
I have not got it from the place i orderd it from yet, i was concerned about yours when it stops woking i dont know if the one iam getting will do this or not. will keep you posted. thanks

I purchased my BH Platinum last spring and after a short time getting use to it, it is the best detector that i have owned so far.

Regarding the post 'sometimes it quits detecting', that situation has happen with all of the detectors I have used now & then.

It happens rarely & a quick 'on\off' resets the machine.

For the money, the BH Platinum is a great machine & a joy to use!

Got the new BH PLATINUM today , the 1/4 inch nut for the jack was screwd on very off center looked bad, so i called detector elec.com where i got it from and they are going to send another one out to me. they where v:cry:ery sorry and said do not try and fix it. so i have got to sit tight and let the other one get here. o well. will let you know how i make out.
 
Thanks idweber51, thats makes me feel good that there is nothing wrong with my detector or Platinum. That it is just one of those things. If I think that it has stoped. I drop my digger to check it out. :blowup:
