You will love the machine.After a short while after owning mine I found a Large Cent that will pay for the CTX. At a site which I have detected before many times over.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. But I don't look at it as a Ford vs Cadillac scenerio. More like two models of Cadillacs! As you know, I am a big fan of the X-TERRA. And just as a mechanic has different tools for different jobs..... that is how I approach metal detecting. I still favor the X-705 for hunting open fields that have undergone years of farming. But for parks, yards and other places where the soil hasn't been "broken", the CTX 3030 has replaced my E-TRAC as part of my "dynamic duo". If you are able to have more than one horse in the stable, the X-TERRA and CTX 3030 is definitely a winning team! JMHO HH Randy
