ordered 10x12 sef butterfly for mxt

I ordered the 10x12 sef butterfly for my mxt. On kellyco the picture shows it black in color. I received a white one. Part number on box is "w" which is correct
but box is also marked for V3 . Hopefully they' re interchangeable?

You got the better one as it can be used on the V3 and varients. Any should work on the MXT the White (V) models are just tuned for the V3's should you ever want to get one as a adjunct to your current machine. What you have should be perfect for your MXT. I have the 8X6 on my MXT Pro and like it very much. You are good to go.

Thank you for the reply. I was hoping I wouldn't' t have to return it. I've heard alot of good things about the coils. Don

You will absolutely love that coil on your MXT if you were not getting those deep targets you will know  and it will handle the extra power from the gain contral. So go back too those older hunted out parks homesteads ect :detecting:

I'm looking forward to trying it. I made the previous post about the hot rocks. Normally I don' t have trouble and I turn the gain low to compensate. Hoping this will help. I' m thinking the water on top of the frozen ground caused the issue and I' ll gain higher a d shoot deeper.

I heard that the reason for switching the color was that the black was attracting too much heat for the coil when in sunny conditions causing it to become erratic. That's why they switched to white.

One reason I got the SEF coil was from a video I watched off a link somewhere on the forum. A guy compared a 6x10 DD and the SEF. He had a red brick that showed as a hot rock. He put the red brick on top of a coin and swept the 6x10 DD over it. It showed only as a hot rock. Then he swept it with a SEF coil it it read the coin under the red brick. I was impressed enough to order one myself. Maybe someone has the link. Took a while but I found the link.
