order new coil wanted 10.5 DD 7.5 instead I order 10.5 DD 18.75
Did I make mistake
good or bad
when I got email that I order 10.5 DD 18.75 I tryed to change it to late they said

You did fine. When comparing the two 10-inch DD coils, I can't see much (if any) difference in depth of detection. Besides...... if you spend time in Yuma, that higher frequency will be helpful in your desert gold hunts. HH Randy

There seems to be very little difference between the two coils. The MF coil hits slightly better on silver, while the HF coil hits slightly better on gold. The MF coil seems to work the best in moderate to less mineralized ground, while the HF coil is better for moderate to more mineralized soil. In my ground the HF coil seems to work the best, for many others the MF coil seems to work the best. I think it is more of a personal preference than anything else. Believe you'll be happy with what you got...

I'm new at this coil thing. Been using stock coil with little success

If you haven't been having much success with the stock coil, then it might be best to start looking for other locations to hunt. The stock coil will find good targets, if they are there. I will admit most of us no longer use the stock coil once we get something else, but it is a fine coil in its own regard.

I do my best with the 10.5" 18.75kHz coil. I also own the 10.5" 7.5kHz and I have given it more than a fair shot against the 18.75kHz. I believe that the soil composition in our area is what makes these two coils much different from each other. I would say that I do 70-75% better with the HF coils as compared to the the MF coil. Don't get me wrong, I find stuff with the MF coils but I have found such a noticeable difference between the two that 90% of the time I now use a HF coil. Many people will say that you do better at gold with high frequency and better at silver with the low frequency. Technically, I believe that is true but in reality once you throw ground mineralization into the picture that presents another variable that may or may not make that statement 100% true. With the MF coil I find a lot of can slaw.

The HF 18.75 coil does just as well for me as the MF 7.5 , and you can find gold or silver with either one . The only thing that I have seen is that the HF 18.75 has it the ability to find very fine gold and it does do that well . But as for gold rings and silver it finds that also with no problem .

I do not think you will enough change between the two that you will notice .
