Optimized (White) 10x12 SEF Coil Review

Well, I got my

wow u lucky dog.

congrats!

i just hope they get some 12x15 coils that will do just that.
still waitin to see results on them like yours.

I hope they get some consistency in the manufacturing process........... It seems to be a hit or miss if you get a good one or not.

Nice one ROB..

Rob I have been waiting for you to get your hands on one..Have you been in the field with it yet? Where did you get the inch is what I am wondering .Test garden, Air test ???Bill

Bill, I will be doing a though field test over 4 days over the 4th weekend. I based the 1" on the results we were getting on the black SEF. I didn't want to exaggerate until I got to hit some deep targets. I will cross check signals with Larry over the weekend.

I was just verifying the coil could handle RX + Boost with no overload and with low signal loss.

Nice job Rob. Cant wait to hear your results on the new white SEF coil. You do always give a great opinion with great explanations to the reasons things work as they do, Thanks for your input. Yazoo

Thank you, Mike.

Rob, I'm relieved you got a "good one". I did not want to be the only or one of the few to post up that it's a winner. Reasoning that we on these forums, rely on a collection of honest opinions to influence some purchasing choices, thank you.
I get thesame results as you have reported. It's my main coil and I know one other V3i user locally who feels the same.

This I look forward to.... I was able to run mine between bouts of overloading and found a shotgun shell at 6+" in my nail filled yard. This may not sound like much but it is amazing considering I had been over the area a hundred times and not found anything.

I sure hope it holds null....

I don't know what to tell you. Here are the two coils, my D2 and 10x12. Both have no cover and have the lower shaft attached. My 10x12 is lighter. :wiggle:

When i put my sef coil on it felt lighter when i was swinging it and well balanced.:detecting:

Bill,
with the heat our group hunt is off so I can't cross check signals with anyone. In my soil at home if I set the ferrous VDI to 5 tone it sounds like a Geiger counter gone wild. That's because of all the iron bits. With the D2 around home I run 12 Max and more like 10 RX. So until I get away to an area where we were going camping I won't be able to see the added benefit of being able to run the high RX with the SEF.

I went out yesterday and I could run at 15 RX but running that high gain is counter productive in my soil. It ran a smooth threshold and low signal%. Other guys having good luck should give their review. I'd be interested in their thoughts and where (location) the finds are being made.

Rob Looking forward to your field tests. I an sure many of us are on the fence with this coil. Did yours come from kellyco???

Hi, Bill

Kellyco is the only place I know you can get them in the USA. Don't plan on a report for awhile. They are going for the record temperature tomorrow. I haven't got out but one small hunt since I got it. TOO HOT. I asked for other guys who got out to report. Mine is good but unless other guys can claim success also, I wouldn't get excited.

For when I get out, what are your concerns? The black SEF was all Larry ran on his V3i. After I get the field test done, I won't be posting as much as I used to post.

Hey, repost the flipper. It was deleted by accident.

Sold my black SEF coil, so I hope for some good news when the weather breaks. Otherwise i think I might invest in a really good leaf blower to blow the dirt around and find surface stuff without digging.WE are looking at triple digit temps or close to it for the next week or so with no rain here in over a month in my lil pice of Indiana.
