Ops Checked the Excel Today

Had to do a minor repair on the Excel and wanted to try it out. We just had another two inch rain storm so I stayed out of the woods and did a rare field hunt. The targets were far and few and could only muster some modern day buckshot and shotgun shell casings.
Then I finally got a higher tone reading, but it was only a 22, I was looking more for a 30-33 reading but to my surprise the 22 turned out to be a Holey Half Reale. <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b">
Luckily even though there is a nice big fat hole in the center, the coin is legible and a nice and clear date of 1778 is there.
This is my second 1700 era coin with the Excel, the other being that beautiful 1796 Liberty Cap Large Cent.
Not bad for a backup detector! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
