OK...if you were in the market to get a new BHID, and already have a Super 12 coil ( for my DFX but don't use it much), would you buy the new BHID300 and sell the coil, or get the older model and have the coil put on ?

At this point I don't know the prices of the older models, and it's possible that they are becoming out of stock, but if it only costs $60.00 to put the coil on, and the price of the older model is more than $100 less ( guessing here), and the performance is identical ( at least I think it is from reading), then it may be a better deal.

I guess my only quandry would be that I won't have a Super 12 coil for my DFX, but the more I beach hunt with it, the more I get scared of getting swamped by a wave....hence dry sanding with the smaller coils and using one of my other water proof units for the wet sand and suds.

Let me know what you think !!

Thanks,

JC

The new 12 is $199.00 plus 60.00 installed.(259.00 + shipping) Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken? So u figure 270.00 on top of a good used machine, might be cheaper just to get the new one,or wait awhile and see what turns up used?

Buy new and sell the coil.

You want the high viz yellow coil so that you can see it in the water. Plus, I think it will help you if you ever sell the machine.

Plus...I do like the yellow coil, and I think there may still be times when I put the Super 12 on the DFX and hit the wet sand.

With new you will have a full two year warranty and the 300 being $999.00 I think I would go that route, and also for the resale value...
