Price range ($200-$450 new or used)I am gearing toward the Shadow X3, but have not had a chance to use one. I really like the DFX but I think I could do better in the trash with another brand. Looking for one with better trash separation.

<center> I have to agree with small coil on dfx
change your sweep speed to slow down and maybe up your reset on the DFX
I cant remember the settings now been so long  but the DFX and small coil can do it fine
Nothing wrong with another unit either tho ;)

Yeah it is my dream coin. One of these days :) Thanks for the tips. I have 2 small coils but sometimes I think too much iron can confuse the circuits. I was told to hold the coil off the ground a bit in high iron areas and I won't get as much interference. Will try it when it warms up a bit. Im actually glad it's freezing, now I can concentrate on getting a few research papers done :)

I have the Excellerator 5" which was awesome, until it conked out on me, and got a 4x6"DD I like em both but wanted to get a lighter, simpler machine also. You know the old saying, grass always seems greener on the other lawn. I'm going to sell a few buttons, so figure it would be well spent going to a detector.
