Opinions on the GTI 2500

I'm really interested in opinions on the GTI 2500. All are welcome. I have a ML Exp II, but I'm also interested in the GTI 2500. The ML Exp II has a huge learning curve. Thanks, friends!

Having used both the 2500 has a small learning curve and easy to use and in the ID all metal mode is as deep as any unit...including the Explorer...As far as imaging after about 6 inches on a coin the image does not work the best, but will tell you a can at a foot..
Didn't care for a machine talking to me but thats users preference..
Excellent notching system, imaging gives you added resources to tell gold rings from junk. To the average person might seem a little bulky, but its ergonomics is much better than your Explorer..Pinpoint button sometimes sticks and to my knowledge this has never been corrected..All in all with its tone ID, preset modes, user made modes, excellent notching and user friendly features is a nice unit and many do well with it...

The 2500 will size an object for you in the first 6 inches....and it also loves clad too, along with silver and gold.

The 2500 is Garrett's top of the line and quite a machine. It has its own learningcurve but nothing like the Minelab. It is also a lot sturdier. In all metal it is hard to beat for depth. Plus you have the imaging feature which really spoils you along with Scan track and ground tracking. And with the Treasure Hound accessory you can convert it to a two-box machine for hunting items feet deep instead of inches. It's also quieter.

Txgold, I've had my 2500 for a few years now,but i am still learning, new things about it all the time.I guess I am a slow learner! But this is my second Garrett, and I am happy with it.I do like the belltone, for coins, and the low tone for junk. Not all belltones are coins, sometimes it is junk. But if you get a good belltone ,from both directions, its seems to be a good target.I also like the factory preset. I was having trouble at a park the other day,it seemed to not be giving me good singals.I took a brake and read the manual, which said if you are having any trouble, hold down the all metal button for five seconds, until it resets itself, this took care of the problem.it started working fine after that.Because of all the differnt settings,I had changed,it just was not working right at this park. The imaging is great,it does help, with what to dig or not to dig.
