Opinions on detecting in the rain or when the ground is soaked

heard a rumor it is best to detect when it is raining or just after. is it true or bs? my buddy told me this and true or not i need to know why. i would think there would be more ground mineralization to deal with causing erratic readings

I always seem to get a little better depth just after a good rain, and it makes digging a lot easier!

Yes Sir , next day after a good soakin things go beep a hell of alot better.unless its so muddy you can't dig without making a mess.

Day after rain=
While it's raining?:huh:I don't want to be struck by lightning swingin' that electric lightning rod!:detecting:
Happy Hunting!:)

Its a two faced sword....better conductivity on the good stuff but alas also on the junk which can cause masking...Have to say if not a super lot of rain sure makes the digging easier but again too much it becomes a muddy mess for yourself and also making a clean neat plug..So again plus and minus features for sure...

Thanks for all the input people and yah metalhead no swinging lightning rods for me either when an electrical storm is present. I've been hit with 120 ac and 45,000 vdc from the car and I don't like either let alone a couple million volts to blow ya outta yer shoes.
