Operating in the desert

I have the MXT tracker and I am using Whites eclipse DD coil. I have a 950 and never tried it as of yet. When i bought this machine the store that sold me this said the DD would be better in the desert, but I wanted your input on how the two compare and what you guys think would be better in dry sand VS. a grassy park. I found just by chance what used to be an old trailer park site that even has an empty built in swimming pool. I was thinking about trying the 950 in the this location and wanted input.

I use the 10"DD a lot these days. I get good coverage and good depth. I use it in wide open areas relic hunting and I use it in the park.

I also found the remains of what was an old apartment complex and playground. can't wait, I will check this out tomorrow. Weather here in southern calif has been great lately

Hunt an area with the 6X10 and later cover it again with the 950, only you can judge what is best for you. Traditionally in sandy grounds, the 950 should give you more depth and be more forgiving on rusty pop tops.

I started out with the original 9.5 coil and switched to the 10 DD.
I did not like the 10 DD and reverted back to the original coil.
The 9.5 was a better one for me.
Like Larry says the DD coil like pop tops !

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I love my 9.5 coil. I use it 95% of the time. HH, Nancy
