Oops me bad(forgot), I did find a chain yesterday, but not what you think.

The first target I found in coins mode was this little beauty down about an inch. I thought it was silver till this evening when I tried to clean it with silver polish, because many things come out of the lake black. No go on the silver polish, looks to be hard drawn copper that may have been plated or gilded at one time.

The only thing I can imagine that it is, is a ring made from a chain, as it just fits halfway down my pinky. The links look to be folded and soldered. First time I've ever seen one, maybe I don't get out enough.

I've retrieved silver jewelry from the water (mostly the ocean) that has such bad silver sulfide on it that polish won't even begin to cut through it.

Put it in a electrolytic reduction bath and the sulifide will cook off. Then polish it with a wet cloth and some baking soda.
