Nope...Garrett doesn't know how to make one of these, either.
 
Not one engineer has developed a means of detecting gold and IDing it as such. And that includes allmanufacturers. Gold is rarely in it's elemental 100% pure state, so all metal detectors will read it as a possible different ID number or icon or audio sound, depending on which brand you are using. Having said that, I have found a lot of gold rings at, below or above the pull tab icon. Gold targets give off subtle hints, such as a softer tone, not like a pull-tab which gives off a more sudden, harsh audio signal. However, even a gold pendant with sharp corners can begin to sound harsh.

Bottom line........you have to dig a lot of trash targets to get a gold find, or, to increase your chances, hunt areas where gold is more likely to be lost. Or.......search areas where known natural nuggets are known to exist.
