51 views an hour of silence speaks volumnes it seems.

aussiedigger, Its beach depended. I have no clue what types of beach you have where you are. The CTX 3030 was tested in Folrida and it worked great. I hunt in NJ and it preforms well. Lots of iron and minerals. But some area's it doesn't and some areas it does. It was able to find lots of coins and several pieces of gold in the firsty month I had it. The second month it found another gold ring. If you land hunt its an great detector hands down. To me its just another tool for the beach. Ask me again in six months I need more time on the beach.

Need to specify if saltwater or freshwater.

From the complaints I've read, it seems the CTX 3030 is quite unstable in salt water.:)

Thankyou....! The ocean beaches I detect are mainly clear of black sand and any high iron or mineral content, But we do have them.

Just missed you the other day with Sweeper on the beach
I have the 3030 and not a problem on the beach, tested it against Sweepers Excal and it ID'd better, one item he wouldnt not have dug i did and was a small silver earing.
5c at 10"+ no problem in wet wave zone  also a 925 sleeper (earring) heavily corroded at 5"
So far only run it in Beachmode, +3, no falsing, if your a dig everything person enjoy Jean eyelets and tiny sized items at wear you out depths its a go :D
PM on the Aussie forum (Xavier) if you want to have a swing down the beach.
Heading to Bris to grab a Pro-Find (if they have one) then down for 12pm low tide

Not really and I am one of the 51 who read your question and didn't have an answer. I love the CTX ......it works beautiful in fresh water, but I have no experience in salt water, let alone in Aussie-land. As some others have said the CTX is beach/water dependent. You need input from your peers and if you don't have any, you will have to be a trailblazer.

I just returned from an NC beach and did a bit of water hunting. The CTX did not false once. I was using the stock beach program.

I was at Long Island beach today (salt water) no falsing at all, also using the stock beach program. Found my first gold ring :)

Well Done you never forget the first one,or most of them golds for that matter.!

Aussie have no experience in the salt water field but I can attest to coin and relic hunting.. it kicks the heck out of everything else I have.. it has a lot of features when combined is gonna be tough to beat...
