One wonders,,,

Why Fisher and East Texas don't combine technology and come up with a CZ Xtra...Basically a CZ with a 1-100 meter, toggle VCO or reg pinpoint, common disc. knob to give a more accurate and precise discrimination..Hey I can dream can't I and combining technologies surely a possibility...Guess I am just from the old school of user friendly depth demons...

Dan, I just came home from hunting with my CZ 70 pro and I am constantly amazed at how good this detector is. No silver today, but I did find 5 wheats from the 8 inch range. That is average for a CZ. I also got a very deep Buffalo nickle( 8 to 9 inches). I hunted a trashy park and there was so much trash that I couldn't use the pinpoint button, but had to do a super slow "X" to pick the coins from the trash. I would like to see a VDI range like you suggested and a trigger pinpoint switch. I don't need a ground track feature, but a quick ground balance button like the Coinstrike would be nice. I don't have any trouble ground balancing as I use the factory "Bob" method and it takes 30 seconds or so to adjust the volume, sens, and ID button. I hardly ever recheck my ground balance, but I take my time and get it perfect when I initially start up. I buy and sell many detectors, but the cz 70 will be mine for a long time. R.L.

The CZ-70 was my first detector after getting back into the hobby after about a 20 year hiatus. I did very well with it in my 1894 house yard and all my neighbors' old house yards and numerous other sites for many years. Surely easy to use, not too heavy, nice backlight, and coil options along with many other pluses. I have tried numerous other machines from Fisher, Minelab and a few White's but I still thought I liked my CZ-70 the best overall. It wasn't until I hunted after it(numerous times at multiple sites) with an Explorer II, X-terra 50 and 70 along with a 3D, when I realized that I was missing quite a few shallow and deep good targets which kind of made me a bit disillusioned. The iron really handicapped it a bit compared to the others mentioned. The Coinstrike also surprised me many times after my CZ-70. A well-tuned 3D is hard to beat since I have found it to be a little better in iron than the CZ-70 depending on the machine of course. The 3D also does pull midtone coins due to masking/colocation into the high tone and makes it easy but still ID's tabs and caps into midtone for me with better target separation. An Xterra does very well in iron finding quite a few deep wheats with it's 9 inch concentric coil versus the CZ-70's 8 inch concentric that I used 99 % of the time. I have found the CZ 5 inch coil a bit tedious and the 10 1/2 very front heavy although I know each certainly have their attributes for sure. So for now, the 3D and Xterra 70 with it plethora of coil options, including various DD's have my interest...but maybe I'll end up with another CZ-70-absence makes the heart grow fonder...you never know with many of us out there :)

Dan, I agree with you. I bought a CZ-7a with the 8" concentric and did fine with it until I developed elbow problems through my work, so then it was too heavy for me (too bad it wasn't a CZ-7a Pro). Then I bought a CZ-70 and belt mount it on my waist. I use it with either the 8" stock or a Sunray FZ-12. Then I recently thought I might get more deep finds with the newest technology, so I got an F75. I had coil trouble and even after two coil replacements, I thought it was way too noisy and erractic/didn't lock in on TID, so I sold it and am going to spend more time with the CZ again. I was going to sell the CZ-7a, but just received a 5" coil today that I am going to mount on it and switch between the 8 and the 12 on the 70.

Have you read the lastest forum string (Question for Tom) on the Dankowski site? It is someone wanting basically the same thing that you (and I) want, but check out Tom's reply in the fourth post. Doesn't look promising that such a machine would ever come about.

The ground is frozen and I'm bored.I had a CZ3D and a CZ70.I sold the 3d and kept the CZ70.I asked Tom on his forum if a VDI CZ could be made. His answer was yes but it would be costly.I don't think from his response that it is too likely.I would buy 2 if they came out with one.I'm waiting for a F-75 to arrive.Bill

be along for the ride. Yes I usually hunt with the SE..but the cz70pro always gets some hunt time too.I found my first 10" deep injun last year..and it wasn't with the SE. The cz and 12" sunray are a deep seeking team.
