One wild day

Hi all. I was out the other day mding and what a trip it was. I was with a friend and we hit this area that had houses back in early 1800's as this has not been detected before we were in for a few surprises. We found wild berries that were ripe for the pickin!!! mmmmmmmmm great on a hot day!!! next we had to battle the mosquito's there was swarm and swarms!!! The day was ok in open area but don't get too close to the bush line. I notice we ere hunting in poison ivy!!! I thought I had removed it all... guess not I had it in my eyes and all over!! urishol is the oil that is the itching oils. Well I got the DFX cleaned with laundry soap and bleach..... I hope that is all it takes. Out side of that It wasn't too bad just a lot of ups and downs. This is the take for the day. The shells are a calibur that I could not find. The two nickles are the oldest for the day. Thanks for having a look

P.S. any better suggestions on getting rid of Poison Ivy? outside of staying away from it? You can still get it a year down the rad if the oil is still around. Also being in Ontario Canada you can get it in the winter if you dig it up thru the snow!!!

Thanks again
HH

Wash thoroughly at least three times using Soap, Water and a Wash Rag. You have to work hard to get all the oil off you. If you have ever gotten oil from working on an automobile on your hands and arms then you know how hard it is to get all the oil off your skin.

I got it off myself. it is the MD and tools that I tried getting it off. I think I got it off I will find out soon.

It sounds like you had a day that you wont forget. You made some real nice finds. I've dug Canadian silver down here in Texas but never a Canadian nickle. What do they VDI at? Best of luck and...

Wear gloves and hunt in spring prior to vegetation blooming... yes you could get ivy oil on your tools but it should be minimal. ...

The nickels came in at 92 I think. They are 100% nickel which I thought prior to 67 they would be silver. Only our quarters dime and fifty cent oh and the dollar coin is silver. After that they changed everything.

Nice finds!
