one sweet yard

I got permission for a yard ( half a block ) in a small neighboring town the bad news it has been hunted out :crylol: the first night was the railroad tag any id would be helpful as to what it was for my guess is a mail bag id it's larger than a baggage claim and has no number, 2 Indians, 5 wheats and a v nickel not a bad start! The next nite was raining but who cares popped two Indians right away then 15 minutes later got a dime target as I was setting the coil to the side to dig I heard the second one just like a comp. hunt! Two barber dimes and 20 minutes later the rain is starting to pick up and I get a 12-46 at about 8 inches I recovered a shiny blob I thought was a piece of melted aluminum wiping the mud off and I had a sterling thimble:clapping: the hallmark is from Sterns Bros. 1890's-1910 era and is one of my top finds ever the art work is mind boggling to look at and still don't know all the meaning I just call it the village scene. The last hunt I was gridding slow in the same area as the silvers and got a repeatable 07-20 and first thought a piece of can slaw but it was 8 inches and could have been a token so I dug a nice plug and it was still down hole so I got the probe and out popped a barber quarter ? probed some more and got the second coin a v nickel nice surprise for an odd signal in a hunted out yard:rofl:

Very nice finds. What year was the V Nickel? Those Barbers are in good shape too.

The V's are01 and no date. Indians are 89 90 98 and 99. Barber dimes are 06 and 10 . The Barber quarter is a 95' O in a good grade.

Good effort and really nice results. I dont know if I have ever seen a 7-20 signal, much less dug one. Where was the target icon on the screen if you recall? I tend more to hear the tone, then if it repeats, look at the target icon placement, then maybe the numbers. I am going to make an effort to look for unusual numbers as all the numbers I recall are in the 10-14 line area.

Again, nice finds, especially the thimble. Great looking!

Man, that is one awesome thimble. Congrats on a great hunt. Joe
