Well I got out a bit tonight in an area where we have pounded and got silver back to Barber..I manually ground balanced( really works well in my area) and my detctor purred like a kitchen with minor noise at best...Sens, 60, Disc. 40 tones 3....As I wanted to get some hunting in stopped my experimenting there with a super stable machine...I managed a 5 inch buffalo nickle with a solid ID of 57 which is just about right as buffalo's usually read a little low..also got a 7 inch indian head (1904) at 7 inches with a solid 75 reading both targets were dead center in a 4 inch plug. Got a 74-75-76 reading at 6 inches and dug a 6 inch indian head (1902) caught it at side of hole with my hand held pinpointer and was standing upright...probably the reason I missed the dead center pinpoint...I can see why these coins were still around as we cherrypicked this area to death for silver..Unfortunately my favorite park is under 3 foot of water from the recent flood in in my neck of the woods..Freq. was left on 4 and next time around plan to experiment to see if I can set the sens. higher and still keep it stable...I am sure if there was moderately deep silver I would have got it, but one wonders the amount of silver if any is left, but next time will experiment to go deeper..All in all was well pleased as it covered a lot of ground pinpointed well and was effortless to swing...

Glad to see you're seeing good results early on with your T2. I certainly like and trust mine and it is one of only a VERY few that I don't hesitate to grab for just about any condition. As for the "noise" that you see some posting about, I think most of that is due to SMALL metal in the ground that is simply missed by other detectors. I feel that RF, EMI, etc, shows itself when the coil is in the air as well as when sweeping on the ground and some I think confuse ground based only responses with that of RFI problems. As you well know, with most detectors this can be alleviated with reduced sensitivity but it's good to know what the "problem" really is in the first place. Good luck in your future hunting with the T2!
