One ring to rule them all

I went wading with the Excal in the river yesterday morning before work at a spot that has turned up a few coins and a small silver toe ring recently. So I was keen to see what a new hunt would turn up.
After a few small coins, pull tabs and bottle caps, I got a nice tone, looked in my scoop and among the bits of shell was a big 9ct gold Lord of the Rings ring! :clapping:

A very nice start to the day :)

Thanks Mick.

Took me nine months to find my second gold and a week for the third. I won't complain if some more come my way :)

That's a great find...I dont know how many of the One Ring would be around, but it is one ring that could appreciate in value as time goes on. HH

As it happens my wife has the same ring from the same maker,it was funny when I got home and asked to see her LOTR ring, then I said "look we have matching rings now"!

Nice job!! I found a similar ring made of silver some time ago in Florida. It was bent up and for a while I was trying to figure out the language of the inscription. LOL!

:lol:At least now you wont have to behave like Frodo and Gollum, fighting over the One Ring. Maybe you could enquire with the maker as to how many were made, and if they are still making them...that would give you an idea as to how rare (or not) they are. Having two from the same maker is great...it looks like a very well made copy of the Ring. Some that I've seen dont look as good as yours. Well done!

WTG Raven69, that's a beautiful ring. I found my first gold rings in the latter part of November and so far this month at the same location.
[attachment 251768 December-2012-photos092Custom.jpg] One of the rings had a stone missing and if I had realized it was gold, I would have sifted the sand for a possible stone. These 3 rings are 10K gold and I foung 1 ring that had sterling on the inside of the band and some other rings I'm not sure about. [attachment 251769 December-2012-photos094Custom.jpg]
