One piece Eagle I button.

Deno

New member
My buddie Weaver found this the other day. This is the only one piece I have ever seen anywhere.
Is there a chance it might be rare? The back reads SUPERE IMPERIAL STAND with a little D over
a dot at the end of STAND. Thanks for looking and any help.

The front of your button is a infantry Civil War button, the back of the button would show that your button is a fake Civil War button.Info. found in (Warman's Civil War Collectibles By John F. Graf )

Thank you guys for your comments. I find it hard to believe it's fake unless it was faked in the day.
He found it at a construction site where a old home had been, he also found 3 minie balls.

The company that made that buttom is not listed on any other buttom in the book ,so that is what make me beleave it's fake .The two companys that made that buttom are ,D.Evens & CO. from Atteboro and Young Smith & Co. from New York.If you can find the Company and how old is that will help to know if the buttom is fake.If it's a new Co. then you will know for shore.

Nice button!, SUPERB IMPERIAL STANDd. Manufactured around 1821- early 1840's. Nice and early!!! Well before the civil war. Not a fake.

BTW, if there is any doubt on my input, you can check out {Uniform buttons of the United States 1776-1865} by Author Warren K. Tice, Page 106 D-6. Besides, most buttons made before the 1840's were one piece convex buttons just like your friend's. You can also post the button on American Relic Hunters forum.

Thank you for your effort. I didn't think it was fake. You are the man.
Thanks again to you and everybody else for looking and for helping
me out. Good luck to everybody.

I need glasses. It is superb.
