one off the bucket list ...

I had thought about getting one of these but it was no where near the top of the list. went to a spot that dates back to 1873 and was hitting the wooded section and first target was a 12-4. I was thing maybe a gold something or other. to my surprise it was a coin ... about as big as a dime but wasn't silver. spit, wipe repeat ... then finally started seeing III on one side ... I had found a 3 Cent Nickel .... it's toasty but it's mine and now I have it and the trime

there is just some places where you have to dig everything that's not iron and that is one of those spots. also dug a dozen or so shotgun headstamps with one nice rare one ... Thanks
 
Good going! Many people never dig one of these. I've only dug one in 35 yr's! ( Six or eight silver ones, tho! )

In almost 30 yrs of metal detecting, I've only found one 3 cent nickel.
