Dont think it was actually found in Sherwood Forest if i recall as detecting is not allowed in the forest itself,think it was found close by on a club dig,of course its a fabulous find,but i always take the quoted price that its worth with a massive pinch of salt,the Daily Mail newspaper more than often over hypes stories,basically the only think that is true with that paper is the date at the top of the front page :lol:
 
That probably skyrocketed his metal detection motivation !
