One of my pet peeves.

One of the things that really ticks me off in this hobby is when I call a dealer asking about a particular brand or model of detector and they try to talk me out of it or try to steer me to something else. I hate that with a passion and those that do that to me lose my business forever.

Matter of fact, if I was a Metal detector Mfg or a Distributor for a metal detector mfg, like Fisher, for example, and a customer calls a dealership inquiring about a Fisher Metal detector and that dealer tries to sell me a Deus or a Minelab or a Racer, or anything other than what I called him for in the first place I'd yank their Fisher dealership and sue their pants off if my logo was still on their website 7 days later.

Just thinking about it again as I type this post gets me mad all over again. Man I hate that.

Sorry. Needed to vent.

You are exactly right Mike. Well anyway the F75 is hard to beat.

Called a dealer years ago about a Nautilus and he told me the F75 was a much better detector and tried hard to sell me one. I didn't even try to tell him I already had an F75. I knew what I wanted and just moved on to someone who would sell me one, and never bought from him again.

Maybe they were trying to move what they had in stock. Sometimes you get tired of dusting off what you have.
I was told by the company I us to sell for. If you don't have what they want, sell them what you have in stock.

Mike , I hear ya. Same happen to me. I told the guy at the time if I wanted that detector , I would have asked for that detector. But because you are trying to sell me something other then the one I asked for, I will have to go somewhere else. And after that I never went back to him. The one I wanted he had in stock, the one he was trying to sell me, he had over stock. And he still could not even give me a deal. He was trying to get me to pay MSRP. GS

Years ago I called a local dealer, one of the only ones around here, and he sold something like auto parts but also sold White's units on the side.
A joke.
Never asked me what I wanted to hunt, where I wanted to hunt or any other questions, just started talking about one specific Prizm model and would not shut up about it.
Couldn't get a word in edgewise, I was a professional salesman and it was obvious this guy was ignorant, knew nothing about sales and was definitely trying to get rid of that one unit.
I can't believe Whites would let a person like this have a dealership and he did more to hurt that brand's sales then helping it grow.
He is gone now, thank goodness, at the time I just had to laugh and hang up on him and ordered another detector from a great and helpful dealer from out of state.

White's does not care. I have a friend works at a coin store. They sell White's along with coins. Our local hardware store sells White's. Come on guys you live in America. It's called corporate greed. I go to a store that sells what I want. Not everything under the sun.
