One of my latest hunts with the V3

Do not look at this post ..............
unless you like pictures.

I was using the V3i and the D2 coil with Magic's program.

Something keeps drawing me to these old houses.

I can't quite put my finger on it.

They are all good, but some are better than others. This latest one is pretty high on the good list. I almost broke my most silver record from one site of 18, but not quite.

This home was built in 1870 and has a pretty good size yard.

Here is a picture of the home:

Well that really proves the V is no [attachment 176277 2010-10-14_093133.png]

I've never found a yard like that in my life. Location, location, location. I am impressed. Rob

Very nice hunting Steve!

Congratulations Steve, I am so happy that some V users are posting their finds.

Wow! Steve that was a yard to hunt and you did it up very well . Lots of great stuff. Yazoo

Do you have any more pictures? No kidding, but those were nice.

So, you got all those silver coins from that one house? That is amazing. They must have had lots of parties outside, or kids, or both.

First of all thanks for the kind comments everyone. As a matter of fact I have tons of pictures just go to my profile and click on my photobucket album of my finds and treasure hunting related items. There are several pages and many are old home finds.

The folks who have lived in this home were well to do and had kids no doubt. Yes I found the 16 silvers from this one site. My best from one site has been 18 silver and from another 14 silver.

My hunting time here was 16 hours in 4 different visits. I love the V3 in places like this as it was identifying good targets right next to trash. If you are not digging those jumpy VDI's with some high VDI indications you might be missing out.

Thanks again all for the comments.

Your Columbian Ex half reminds me of the one I found in a private yard 25 years ago along with a 2 cent piece.
Some of my best finds have been in private yards
I found an 1850 O half dime along with a shield nickle in a private yard in Kentucky.
Also in a private yard a100 year old gold and silver thimble with engraving around the sides.
Also multiple gold rings (2 in 1 yard). Yes alot of these older private yards are very rewarding.
Yesterday morning I found with my V3i a 1897 V nickle at 6" and a 10" vdi 1895 indianhead (deepest I,ve ever found)
again in a private yard.
Very nice finds Steve and I believe you can put your finger on it,,,Its the old coins and stuff thats their to be found!

Thanks for sharing the picks with us.

Jim

Man, thanks for the eye candy... there is nothing like an old homesite, especially one like this. It looks as if it has never been hunted. Only problem with it is the let down when you can't find another one to hunt, laff.

I bet you could keep pulling targets out of that place for as long as they let you hunt... they might get thin but you'll keep making finds. Will you go back from time to time... like a spring and fall hunt?

That place looks wonderful.

I looked and I like - man what a nice haul. You have a good spot going there.
Sitting here home (sick) and with the nice cool cloudy weather, its post's like this that are nice to see.
Nice to have Internet & HD TV with the games makes stuck at home not to bad I guess, but I'd rather be swinging when I see stuff like this, before/after the games that is.
WTG!

LOL.................Well there is a story that goes with this site. It is owed by an elderly couple 90 and 87 and they have lived there 50 years. It has never been detected. I did my usual routine to get permission and it was granted. I always show the homeowner what I find and if I find a significant amount of items I put together a nice booklet with a picture of their home on the front and digital images of what I find. In this case it was 12 pages long. I ask them how many they wanted and they said they have 6 children so I made up 8 booklets. I gave them the booklets and told them I would like to come back sometime and they said fine. I went on vacation for 2 weeks in Wisconsin and when I got back I drove by their house.and saw a sign in their yard and I thought I saw my name on it. I pulled in the drive and read the sign which said: Steve our son bought a detector and he wants to find what's left. I guess my booklet got his attention. I went up and talked to them and thanked them for the opportunity to hunt their yard. I ask what kind of detector he has and they said he has never done it before so he bought one just like yours (V3) for $1700. I told them if he has any questions about it to give me a call and I would try to help him.

My booklets usually go over very well with the homeowners and I like doing something for them. In this case it backfired on me a little, but that's OK I hit the site pretty good so I can't complain.

So the short answer to the question is no I won't be going back, but I didn't leave much either.

at least Steve hasn't called you and asked for the findings... I bet he didn't find much.

You did good.
