One of my fav's found with mxt 300 years ago

Totally awesome find. Still a beauty in my book. Thanks for sharing!

Great find. How deep was it and what VDI was showing up?

TNX for sharing this beauty.

It wasn't more than a few inches down.....can't remember the vdi because most of the stuff in that area is old so I dig just about every sound.

Nice find. Considering they started making the "cent" in 1793. So only 7 years that a cent was made in the 1700's

Prob don't find those everyday. Yes I would be a very happy camper to pull one of them outta the ground :)

Does the raised area to the left of the portrait look like it might be from a die crack or is it just a trick of the photo?

Funny you should ask because I never even noticed that until I posted the photo. So what I did is look online for examples of the coin and find that some examples do have that same mark and some don't for the same year but I'm at a loss to explain it....seems like some have it and some don't. Would like to know myself because maybe it's more rare than others, but it's in such bad condition that might not matter.
