Larry and I were heading to a yard in town where we've hunted before. I wanted him to go two houses down and ask about hunting the corner lot. He talked to a renter about why he was there and asked who owned the property. She had said we could detect it. (Larry posted about the conversation on the DFX Classroom Forum and his finds.....please read it)....anyway, we got chased out by another renter, but I do plan on calling the owner today. We did manage to find some wonderful treasures.
Here's my older finds from the lot: 4 Indian cents (1859 - 1867 - 1890 - 1907), 27 Wheat cents, 52-D Rosie. Hand full of clad and a few interesting things. I found the 1859 (fatty) and 1867 Indians in one hole! I found THREE firsts in that one hole. First fatty Indian, oldest coin to date and most expensive with the 1867. Larry graded that coin as an "absolutely EF-40". Pick me off the floor!!!!! Sorry I don't have a good picture of the obverse, but it's a beauty.
I'm still in disbelief. Isn't this hobby GREAT!!!! Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy
