One Nice Yard:

Well-known member
Larry and I were heading to a yard in town where we've hunted before. I wanted him to go two houses down and ask about hunting the corner lot. He talked to a renter about why he was there and asked who owned the property. She had said we could detect it. (Larry posted about the conversation on the DFX Classroom Forum and his finds.....please read it)....anyway, we got chased out by another renter, but I do plan on calling the owner today. We did manage to find some wonderful treasures.

Here's my older finds from the lot: 4 Indian cents (1859 - 1867 - 1890 - 1907), 27 Wheat cents, 52-D Rosie. Hand full of clad and a few interesting things. I found the 1859 (fatty) and 1867 Indians in one hole!:yikes: I found THREE firsts in that one hole. First fatty Indian, oldest coin to date and most expensive with the 1867. Larry graded that coin as an "absolutely EF-40". :stretcher: Pick me off the floor!!!!! Sorry I don't have a good picture of the obverse, but it's a beauty.

I'm still in disbelief. Isn't this hobby GREAT!!!! Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

Wow!!! Great finds. Hope you get permission to hunt there again.

:yikes:So Many First's :beers: Wow Nancy you did good.:beers:...to bad you couldn't have stayed longer.:argue: Hope it works out! H.H.

Bob, I called the owner tonight and we talked for more than 45 minutes. YES, he gave me permission to hunt the yard. One condition. "If I find oil, he wants rights to it". I told him, "OK, but I want 10%". He agreed......LOL. Mr. Rocke has found many Indian Cents on the top of the ground there. He said that he hopes we find many Indians and good coins, etc." WOW, BLESS HIS HEART.

We received rain two nights ago, but need more. With the ground so dry, we're looking forward to some rain so we can go hunt again. It's so nice to be so close to home.

Wish you all the best and thank you,

HH to all,

Nancy
