Greetings from Spain. I hope the translation is correct.
I recently bought my DP Pro Gold Bug. For here is still poorly understood. The high operating frequency and speed made me choose this detector. With the idea of using it only at contaminated sites. At first the results in the field tests were not very promising. But in the actual search gives me very good results. I enjoy audio, breaking the signal, reminds me of the MXT in relic mode. If you allow me a recommendation on the setting of discrimination. I started adjusting the 40, but it seemed a little high for my taste. In 30 continues to discriminate nails well with the advantage of being less masking. I have the curiosity to know which target numbers mark a small gold coin?

How small is small? I have a small novelty coin that is 22k, 8.5mm diameter, and weighs .9 grams with a consistent id of 55 on the 5" coil. At 3" depth it starts to bounce around with the lowest hit being 37. (This was an air test).

A lot of the smaller gold items like earring and pendants I have tested can id in the 40-45 range. In mineralized ground and as the item gets deeper, I have seen these small gold earrings and bits of jewelry occasionally bounce down into the 35-39 range or the id will disappear completely as depth increases. A small gold coin should id better than an earring so I would expect the id to be above 40 for shallower coins. Deeper coins on the edge of detection will not id well and may drift or disappear.

Welcome abroad !!!

hanks for your attention.
Today was a hard day's search. The site chosen is very, very polluted with nails and blunders.
I did the next test. Escabe all the signs of cloves in a small area of 40 by 40 inches. The result is you can see in photo.
More than 20 ferrous targets plus 4 trosos lead. 3 of the leads were masked by the nails.
Even in these concisiones for three hours of search retrieved about 20 non-ferrous signals. That if
all were superficial. In no more than 4 inches deep.

I take the issue to make you another question.
GB / G2 is designed for gold prospecting. Must therefore manage
best mineralization high compared with the rest of VLF.
Actually have an advantage in this regard?
I luckily I have no mineralized areas to see how.
