One Hour Hunt:

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
I was out for about an hour with Larry and I came home with a smile on my face and other goodies. With this heat and humidity, I couldn't take it out there very long. Larry found two wheats in one hole and then I found 3 Rosies, 8 wheats and then 1-25 cent play money. They were all very shallow. I would say maybe 4" tops. These are my finds......Sorry for the poor pictures... I guess I was too excited. I sure hope it cools down this evening so we can go back there and hunt some more. The ground here is perfect for digging. Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

Thats not bad for an hour  I understand about the heat and humidity went out today for a couple hours did not have any luck but it felt like I lost five pounds. It was 91 in the shade with 85% humidity.:stars:

I'd sure like to do it. Looks like I'm hunting a couple hundred miles too far east!LOL It's hot and humid here in east central Indiana too. I work in a glass factory which really makes it tuff to get out in hot weather.

Nice , I haven't found 3 silvers all year. We really had the wind and rain today Nancy. We didn't have electricity for 7 hours. Rob

Rob, Wish you could have had some of our electricity. How did you stand the heat? Generator? We had seen the radar and there were many storms your way. Hope everyone is all right.

This is the second time I've found 3 Rosies. The first time was on my son's 3 yr. anniversary of his death. Three dimes and then a silver cross was the next target. Your time will come. HH to all, Nancy

Nancy,

I would say you did very well for a 1-hour hunt. I did likewise yesterday. Got out in the early morning hours and hit the wood chips in a park I had not been to before. As the joggers and walkers went by and watched, 1 pulled out 13 clad pennies, 2 clad dimes a clad quarter, and a German 1-Mark piece. By 8:30 AM it was already getting too hot to be out, so I called it quits. We are setting heat records here in the Southeast with temps in the low 100s.

Pete

We were very lucky and most of the hard damaging storms went around us. Some we would get the tail of them and that's it. So, our ground was dry and needed rain which we received last night and forecast for more today.

The coins shine because I had just washed the dirt off of them. :cam: We scrub them with a nylon brush. They don't have a lot of value since they were in the dirt. But still keepers!!! HH to all, Nancy

You did pretty darn good too in such a short time. It's been down right miserable to hunt. Early mornings and late evenings are the way to go. I'm hoping Larry and I can go do some playgrounds and soccer fields soon. I love hunting the older private properties, but the wood chips are so much fun! Guess it's the kid in me. Have a good one! Nancy
