One hour hunt on church field..

Not much to find any more on this worked out site that I have pulled 4000 coins and 8 rings off including a gold ring over three years. Managed a silver 3 pence of Victoria 18 seventy something, date worn off. The small coil was giving scratchy signals on most coins as they were at the limits of detection depth. I was using DI2 with discrimination all the way up to 49. I tried using disc at 15 but was getting lots of can slaw coming through , Disc 49 seemed to work a treat and the coins started
to "filter through" nicely Still got a bit of can slaw but not much at disc 49. I found 5kHz made the machine quieter and it made those deep copper coins at limits of detection depth easier to hear , deepest coin was 6 .5 inches to 7 inches with the small 6.5 coil. I have meter ID sensitivity set to low which I prefer on trashy sites, Gain set to 90. So far I am finding coins on every site I visit , the impact does seem to be a coin magnet , 2 silver coins and only 6 short hunts so far , one a hammered silver but worn smooth with no detail..

The coil was a 7.5 inches x 5 not 6.5 inches. My mistake. I am buying the 9.5 inch coil soon to complement my other 3 coils, I will be buying the 7 inch concentric once it hits the dealers over here. The 7 inch concentric should be a coin magnet for sure in the trash ground.

The small coil works extremely well, hunting for coins and being able to separate them from junk targets. Now after you cleaned out an area with it, just for the sake of it go back in with the 5x9 coil. What I did last night and found edge targets I missed the night before. I usually like Di3 mode 14khz, last night used Di4 20Khz, then switched back to 14Khz so I could use my pinpointer. In 20Khz finds pretty small canslaw and foil at 4-5".
