One gold ring

Hunted for about 4 hours in the water today. Man ive got a lot to learn. Not having trouble with the Xcal tones as much as getting used to using the scoop. Its like a balancing act while being hit by waves of water. The scoop goes in sweet on the wet sand..... but out there in the shells its a chore keeping it from turning on you and getting a foot on it. makes you hope you get it the first scoop....but of course im not lol. I found a couple of junk ring and this nice 18ct heavy gold ring. Looks like a diamond and 4 tiny emerald chips in the horse shoe.

Nice one Dew. I wasn't able to get out last weekend. Now , I'm dying to hit the beach. Try using the side of your foot to help you bring the scoop up straight. Works for me.

FKP.... my problem is getting it into the shell sand without it turning on me..... The RTG scoop needs a point like some of those other scoops. I find myself having to put my foot on the upper part of the scoop and handle and wiggling it into the sand. Scuba... i plan on wearing that as good luck...... but NOT on a chain lol. Thanks Elton..... hows that phrase go even a blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally? Its like dirt digging in a way.... if it aint there you cant find it. At least im looking for high value items that are being replenished unlike silver and old coins.

nice loot
on my rtg scoop i had joe put a stainless steel tip on front for me, it works great in or out of the water...it was only 15 dollars i think, i had stopped at there shop in jan when i went to south beach,he did it while i waited for it, joe took care of it for me..you might want to think about it for your scoop..

Dew, Nice Gold Buddy..............on the shells and hard to dig, or penetrate, kicking to the side...I've found a weight belt helps me in these areas...but come in at 185...most of the time I use my miller scoop there with a sifter.............

Thanks Wayne.... so that grabs a bit better? Im thinking of adding just a small piece of aluminum on the back to get a foot on. OBN... im a blind squirrel out there right now im sure the lions share is still there. That tip and possibly a foot step would have been a nice add on.... but ill have to find a welder guy around.

I use my Diamondhead scoop whenever there's alot of shell or rock. Digs in real good. But, I need to fix the fiber glass handle. It keeps filling up with water. Not sure which end the water is getting in from. But, I definitely don't need it any heavier than it has to be !
