Got out for an hour and a half this afternoon. First Shield nickle. Toasted and no date but I'll take it. Was 9" deep and a solid signal. Was at a school yard that I've pounded hard. Equinox is like a new set of ears.
Also a 1945 Merc, 1946 Wheat, button and some sort of hand forged pick tool.
 
Congrats on the Shield nickel.-------That other picture looks like a pick head that's lived a hard life!:biggrin:
 
Lol! Yeah, I had an image in my head of some old farmer hitting something hard and after bending the thing up just throwing it out into the field.

Great Find!!!! What was the VDI on the NOX? Probably didn't jump around much with a solid signal :) I need to start finding more nickels :) Congrats
