One final question

Well, I'm convinced from the posts of the experts that the 70 is a worthwhile upgrade from the 30. I appreciate everyone's advice. Not used to seeing this kind of response on most forums. Now for my final question. Has anyone compared the depth of the 70 to that of the F-75 or T-2? I really like every feature of the 70 over the 75, weight, balance, quality, etc. But I'm a relic hunter and don't want to buy the 70 if it's only going to get half the depth of the 75, although I don't believe the 75 will dig a coin at 15 inches. I appreciate your help, and this should be my last question for a while. Thanks.

Having owned the X-30 and now using the X-50 the ability to use multiple coils change to all metal with the push of a button along with added meter facets to better identify a target and manual ground balance makes it a superior unit by far to the X30..
As far as depth knowing how to use and set the ground balance, noise cancel and sensitivity along with your soil conditions and expertise all equates to more depth using the X-50 and am sure the X-70 which I never used further enhances it.Perhaps an X-70 and F-75 user that has used the X-30 could chime in...Might jump over to the forum which covers the F-75 for further research...

Im just gonna add my two bobs worth here if I can.....I have the 70 myself and have used an exp II in the past which found me alot of deep targets (Relics) If you are mainly a relic hunter then the Exp SE would be a nice choice. The 70 is no slouch and will serve its master well......I could never go back to an EXPLORER after swinging the 70 UNLESS they managed to make it as light as the 70, THEN I would buy one tomorrow! Its very hard trying to compare certain detectors and some questions are better answered with action!
cheers!

Appreciate everyone's help. I don't ask at the F-75 forum because everything I read on there talks about the super depth it gets, and no real criticism of the detector. Every detector has its shortfalls, and I'm sure the F-75 does also. I've always gotten straight info on this forum, good or bad. That's why I ask here. I'm sure I'll order one, the 70 that is. I really like the 30, and I'm sure it's an improvement on that. Thanks again.

I agree with you that no detector is perfect, and I generally try to use a two or three detector battery on sites where I have the time and access.

The major strength of the X70 is it's versatility at a price point. It is a Jack-of-all-Trades and a master of a couple. With how many other detectors can you get up in the morning and whether you decide to go prospecting, coin shooting, beach hunting, or relic hunting, and know that you have a very competent machine? There is a very diverse group on this particular forum because of the versatility of the X70.
