Been almost a month since I've been out so todays hunt was nice for a change! Got the courage up for a doorknock in a neighboring podunk town and scared up this stuff...... Nobody posting much lately so I thought I'd share these to help us all get thru till the next hunt......

Thunder boomers & rain today and they are calling the same for the future so not sure If or when I'll get out again....

PS...saw a couple elk on the drive also......

Great finds! Thanks for sharing!

Great HuntOneguy! Congrats:thumbup:
I just got out myself after a couple weeks..

At least your door knock got some silver!

How's the door knocking deny/permission ratio going?

Door knocking for me is gonna be a last resort if it happens at all.

Thanks guys...!!!!

Flip a coin on the doorknocks? Maybe 50/50 in my case? I'm a scruffy bastard which probably doesn't help but on the other hand out here in Podunk people are pretty down to earth and friendly so usually once some idle bs is established and they realize you're somewhat local, retired, and drop a few names of some of the others' houses you've done around town then sometimes things open up?

I hate doing it and only do it when furstration/desperation sets in. You know how it goes...you hunt the public pounded place(s) with 1 rosie for 8-10hrs of total hunt time then the frustration sets in. USUALLY when I want OLD coins combined with the frustration I head to the big city, plenty of parks, curb strips, churches, schools, courthouse, etc. Problem is I HATE GOING THERE and really have to suck it up to do it but that's where the old coins are. For me the big city is 220mi rt. and sometimes an overnight at the el cheapo motel, dinner at fast food, deal with all the people, one way streets, stoplights, dogs barking at me from behind, frisbees flying by my head, needle freaks in some parks, homeless guys sleeping in bushes, sirens, no place to park, and on and on. I really tried to suck it up yesterday for a trip into the big city but just couldn't do it so I mustered up some courage for a doorknock in a small burg about 35mi from my podunk town.....

Today weather kinda "iffy" and I think I'll grab my tector just in case, head back to that little burg, do some DK'ing, and see if I can't line up some privates for next week or possibly even a little hunting today if weather cooperates???

The few times i've door knocked has only been locally here in my County. I always work into the schpeel that i live in the County and am sort of your neighbor in so many words. Your're right, dropping a few names helps and mentioning any jewelry or other personal items found are theirs if they want it.
Being clean cut, a natural born BSer (smiling door to door salesman type) are definite plus's of which i'm neither. OK been known to BS some.

Like you i hate it also and haven't done it in a long while. Its too dam uncomfortable for me digging on people's property and then keeping stuff found on their property.

Maybe i've been detecting public parks way too long!

Congrat's on your finds.

I'm like you guys, I hate to door knock too and I only do it when I'm tired of hitting those pounded public places in my area.

Way to go on your finds! Thanks for the pictures.
