Went to a section of a local park that I'd been eyeballing for a little while. It's labeled as a "Natural Habitat" area which I think just translates to "We don't want to take care of this area anymore". ha ha ha

There were some old black stone steps leading up to a big open flat area with one really old tree.

It turns out that this are was littered with 50-70's pull tabs. There were definitely a fair amount of space between the pull tabs but surprisingly, no coins. I went over near the edge of the woods and had a sketchy 42 signal which I thought could possibly be a deep quarter on it's side. Much to my surprise it turned out to be a pretty smooth merc! The date looks like 1917 but the last digit is a little hard to read. With the magnifier I see what looks like the downward stroke of a 7.

Today was our first 75 degree day which seemed like 90. Got a little too hot and still tired after detecting all day Wednesday so we wrapped it up with that being the only coin.
