One crusty copper

RonNH

New member
I finally hit an old one with the 70. I went to a field where I have found a few coppers and a cross reale and I thought it was done for. I picked up this thin copper, possibly a half-cent and had to resort to wet/dry paper to try to get some detail on it. Pretty typical of probably half the coppers we find up here in NH but I was excited as it was the first oldie in 3 trips out. Tech. info... VDI = 34/36, Sens 26, Auto GB and All Metal mode, stock coil, 6" deep. Ron

Well at least you know there might still be some more in that general area.
I haven't done much on the forums because I'm tuckered out from the show.

RonNH,
Still a nice find. We don't find many large or half coppers other than the IH's, here in Pensacola Florida, like you or NH Bob do, but q few others (not me yet) still find Reale's once in a while and other good finds.

I just found my first Real Token (other than 30-40 year old Bus Tokens), NATIONAL BILLIARD MFG. CO. CIN O - on one side with crossed Pool Cues, and on the reverse, (star)W.C. NORMAN (star)- (from the web, was a Mobile Brewery rep here in Pensacola) with 5 cents - Good At The Bar - and the token was a flower type shape.

I don't know how old (nothing on the web for that)- and maybe somebody knows when a drink was only a nickel and give me an estimate, but from the same soil I found two IH's, one a 1902 and a 1903 (1903 about one foot from the token), and those were IH number two and three that I ever found. Woo-Hoo for me.

Oh and by the way, It's spelled with a K. HA!

Keep it up and good luck.

Sorry all, but can you let me in on the possible age of he token?

Not a decent reply I admit, with a question that's still lingering.

But HELP!! As I have no clue (of course).

Thanks?
