It quit raining about 10a here so saddled up and headed to a spot I hadn't been to for a while and historically doesn't yield a lot of targets. Occasionally, though, those it does are of the older coin varieties. About midway through my 2 1/2 hour hunt I got a fairly faint high tone that the reading was hovering in the 88-89 range with a flickering 6-8" depth reading. Dug down a good 6" and found the target just off to the side near the bottom of the hole. Pushed my digger on top of and back behind the target and felt the target with the digger. Yup, put a nice kiss in a rather pretty 1905s Barber half. I think it was at least partially on edge, but not sure. It fell out of the small dirt clod just the way you see it in the first picture. None the less, I'll take it. Also got 2 wheat cents, a 36 and a 41d. Hope everyone was and is digging good this weekend. HH jim tn
