One BIG alligator gar from Oklahoma!....

Don't have much info to go with these pictures, but this has to be some kind of state record. Apparently the guy shot it with a bow because there are two compound bows set up with fishing reels on the boat. I can't imagine reeling something in this size without using a wench on a wrecker... well, I did reel in a fish about this size a few years ago, so just grit your teeth and GIT-R-DONE!

to bow fish. I stuck a gar about as long as this one but not nearly so big around. He towed my 16' bass boat around for about 30 min. I finally got him up to the boat but couldn't get his head in position for an "adjustment" with the ball peen. On the 3rd try the arrow pulled out. I was actually glad it did because we stood a good chance of getting hurt.

These are the toughest things you can get hold of. I'll bet these guys were worn out when they got this mutha in the boat. Can't imagine trying to handle one this big.

Thanks for the post Vern. Enjoyed it.
