This class ring was lost on "July 29, '07", according to Hunter's father, while the family was on vacation(how ironic that Gulf Hunter found Hunter's ring, don't you think?). I recovered it on Dec. 3, '07. Allow me to describe the days hunt........ It was a blustery day, with North winds howling at 20-25 knots. The tide had blown out exposing the swim area nicely. I began the hunt at 6A at the 1st location, with dismal results. $.39, copper hair barrett w/colored rhinestones and a ferrous hoop earring and moved to another location at 815A. I reentered the water at the next location at 820A and hunted till 9A, with $.26 and a Rainforest Cafe copper penny medallion. I then moved to another spot and got shut out, from 915A-920A. I then ended up at the final location and hunted there, from 930A-1115A and ended up with $.31 and the Ponca City class .925 ring.

I e-mailed the school, with a description of the ring and a member of the staff was able to determine who the student was and discovered that Hunter's father worked at the school, as well! His father e-mailed me and we made the arrangements. I DID ask for $20, to cover shipping, handling and insurance. Hunter sent out this VERY NICE letter, with a cashier's check for $40!!!!

A couple of days later, I get an e-mail from Hunter's father that was worth a TON! The ring back on Hunter's hand, VERY rewarding, indeed!

Last Monday, the local paper up there called me for a short interview, for a newspaper article. Figured there would be a little article in an obscure section, within the paper. Then on Thursday, I got a manilla envelope in the mail, with another present! I MADE THE FRONT PAGE OF THE PONCA CITY NEWS! UNBELIEVEABLE!

This ring returning thing is kinda addicting and I can see it happening with more regularity in the future, but a gold one, MMMMMaybe????
I told Hunter to "NEVER wear his ring in the water again", I'll betcha he won't either, the next pirate may just loot him, LOL! His ring has a story now, unrivaled by many others too, a pirate story!

Huntress also returned another one on Sunday after church and when she forwards the information, will write her story, as well. We had been searching for this girl for 2 years!
