On the hunt for coins and jewelry

Okay fellas need to hear your thoughts on which of the Teknetics machines is what I'm looking for. Currently I use a ML X-30 and have made and am still making some great finds with. I really enjoy its light weight and simplicity - which in turn seems to be why I'm drawn to the Teknetics line. Wanting to up grade without having to take out a second mortgage...lol... So between the Omega 8000 and the G2 which would you say (in average mineralized soil) would make the better coin and jewelry detector? Or would you go with something other than these two? Lets try and keep it in the $700 and under price range - Thanks

Thanks for the response - I'm still in the research mode - but if I do decide to go with the Teknetics ill be sure and let you know.

i''l add, IF you can find one,a standard f-75 might be an excellent choice!.and try to get the 5" dd coil with it!

i will say G2 also. great machine and its as simple as it gets. super fast, light, hits hard on everything. oh and its one of the smoothest machines on the planet!!!

Well my Omega is doing really well on coins, so far the only jewelry that I've found with it has been a couple of gold plated rings (vid'd in the zinc range) but I figure if I ever come across some real gold it won't have any problem detecting it. On the other hand depending on where your hunting the G2 may be better as I think you can run it with the sensitivity turned all the way up and not have the issues with EMI that you might have with the Omega.
