Im in the market for a new detector never used a whites but the mx sport had my eye and the makro r2 really has my interest .You guys who have been detecting for long time give me some advice please. Im a serious relic hunter thats what i love to do and im looking for a machine to replace my at pro wanting a fast machine and one that gets more depth. waterproof doesnt matter.

Performance watched the whites guy on youtube testing the mx on the nail test and like the feature were you can turn down the iron signal and the good target will be louder. would work perfect for my style old homesites but then I heard about the software issue and started looking at the racer looks like its fast too and a deep seeking machine. I need a deper machine than my at pro so I can go back over hunted out sites .

I was in the same boat. Couldn't make my mind up between the two. Everybody is unloading the red racer to buy the racer2 or selling off new red racers at bargain prices. New red racer just went for $380 on big auction. I went with used red racer & hopefully will have the mx sport after the dust settles. For relic & old homestead hunting the red racer is a good one. I am sure the sport has its place to. Hope to have one before long.

thanks I hope the dust settles quickly! I might have to wait a couple of weeks to get my money right at least it will give me some time to research more. selling some of my fishing , detector stuff on ebay so I will have to wait till I get my money .

I have both but don't have enough hrs on them to give you an accurate report. I can give you some pros and cons ( notice , some pros and cons for me not everyone else) about both machines. For example, I like the bigger display on mxsport as compared to the smaller meter on the racer.... anyways as i put more hrs on each machine, I'll be posting my experiences of how they are working for me in my areas and type of hunting. Good luck with your decision.

Cant wait to hear about depth and seperation on these machines and which has faster recovery. thanks

... and also ID accuracy on deep targets. Sure glad to hear that White's fixed the audio problem and now the audio is responsive and fast.

How did you like it coin hunting? I was impressed that you could tell a penny from a dime in your video.
