On the Explorer II, when I make various changes to..............

sensitivity, tone or anything, Does the explorer remember these changes when I shut if off? Or do I have to save it to memory.

Yes, it remembers the settings and the next time you turn it on, they will still be there.
The only thing that will not be saved is if a program is edited and not saved, it will revert back to what the program was prior to the edit. All the other settings will be the same when you turn it back on.

Steve,

Are you sure about that. I was under the impression that if you loaded a saved pattern and then made changes without saving it:
#1 The pattern saved in memory would remain in the original state as if no changes had been made.
#2 The modified pattern would be active when you turned the power back on.

In other words, what ever your setup was when you turned the power off will return when you turn the power back on. This is true regardless of how the setup was achieved. Maybe I am mistaken about this.

Glenn, I may have over spoken. I know if I don't save the changes on my XS and turn it off, it reverts back to the original. Maybe the Exp2 will also keep it in active memory on turning the power back on. I don't mess around much anymore with programs so it has been a few years back since I even made one. I remember making an edit at a school on a program and I made the mistake and turned the detector off and when I turned it back on, I had lost the edit, maybe it is just my XS this applies to .

Steve,

I stand corrected!!! My previous comment was based upon how I thought the Explorer II functioned. A ran a simple test:
* I loaded a saved pattern.
* I edited the program without saving it back to memory.
* I turned the detector off and then back on again.
* The pattern that came up was the unedited (original) pattern.

Therefore, it appears that when you create your own pattern and then:
* Turn the detector off, before saving the pattern
* Turn the detector back on
* The detector comes up whatever the pattern was prior to your creating a new pattern.
This rather surprised me. I had always thought that the detector would come back with the same pattern that existed before you shut the detector off.

Thanks for straightening me out.

HH,
Glenn
