Can't find the good stuff in the water lately,(west wind making it too rough anyways!) so beach hunts with the Xterra 705/ HF DD elliptical coil has been the ticket.Thursdays beach hunt found 3 rings. All found in the same hole, but one at a time. The music note and theater faces ring are stamped 925, the plain unassuming ring, maybe missing a stone, is stamped silver. Total 4.2g
This morning found the 925 buckle ring 5.8g (FYI.. buckles are a good luck symbol) and a 2.6 g silver pendent stamped Atocha/1622, I assume it was made from Atocha silver. GL ALL

Thats really cool! the Atocha charm!...:clapping:

My daughter was about 10yrs old and the Atocha divers came to town to do a talk and exhibit their finds at the local museum...must have been in the late 80's early 90's?....I have a pic of her holding up one of those big bars of silver with those divers in the background, a big grin on her face!...needless to say, all she wanted to do after that was DIVE.....and so she has, all over the World, she got her PADI at 13, shes now 34...she free dives over 100feet monofin, and can dwell for quite a while, ....a lot longer than her old man, who's good to about 15' and maybe 30 secs, and thats with dual tanks!..

I remember taking her out in the boat one day, she was maybe was 15?...I said, "lets see who can dive down to the bottom and come up with a handful of mud to prove it" I lost of course, it was 60 freaking feet deep according to the fish finder!....

Anyway, long story short, she gave me one of those Atocha charms made out of Atocha silver for Fathers day once, probably my most bestest gift ever......thanks Bob!
Mud

Very nice silver finds! It's great to find something out of the norm i.e. the Atocha pendant and I'm sure there are many other great finds just waiting to be scooped up!.....go get-em!!!! Congrats!

That Atocha silver has now been lost twice! Mel Fisher found it the first time, and now YOU! What are the odds of that?:surprised:
Mud

Hey Mud,nice story about your daughter:) Does the Atocha charm have the same markings on the back like this one? I Googled it and found it under Mel Fisher Jewelry, but only the front view. sells for $29.95
GS..I don't use a scoop on the beach, rarely is a target more than a fresh drop...I'm a foot digger, finger sand comber /sifter. Dimes are my nemesis. lol

Nice finds on the beach, Bob. Love the Atocha silver.
Mud, 100 feet with a monofin. She's something else and in great physical condition. I just imagine the cramps if I tried using one of those things. I know you're a proud papa.
