On the Beach. 6 Three hour hunts.

Nice beach town on the Atlantic. (Rehoboth) Hunted about 3 hours every morning starting before sun up. Every morning people gather for the great rises. The beach has already been read up and dragged during the night. Didn't find any gold/ silver. Little over $12 in clad, many tent pegs. Beach is heavy with sand, hardly any tabs but a few bottle caps. Mostly a easy going family beach. Did watch one heckof a surf hunter. Waves break at 2-3 feet, and that was where he stayed. No young fellow, but he can handle it real good. Way above my pay grade. As you can see, beach gets packed all day long. Going back next year. Oh, my wife found a Silver hoop ear ring on the board walk. Go figure.

Man, I really don't get it sometimes. A beach that packed, you'd think you would almost be guaranteed some yellow. My beach was like that on the fourth and I thought I was gonna get some gold for sure, like the year before. Well, I got heaps of change but no jewelry whatsoever, I didn't even get any fresh drops of fake jewelry! How does that even happen? Then some days you go after a slow day of people sunbathing and you get a nice one.

Sounds and Looks like you had a very good time!

Problem, They replenished these beach's the last two years, the surf is very ruff here, and the people are just not loosing the yellow. Does not sound right but 5 years ago you would find a gold just about everyday at these places, now your lucky to find one a week. Just so much sand if you don't catch the fresh drop in the first or second tide it is gone, deeper, pulled out..gone. I was out on a near by beach the last two nights, got 4 rings and some other treasures..one was gold Sat... Last night I was out, after another big day.. 20 coins...NaDa... There are thousands of rings out there but with so much new sand.. they are gone.. Very Sad...

Sounds like you had fun anyway dancer.... ive hunted there a few times ,only ever found one gold ring there.it happened to be my wifes ring size and had her birthstone on it so we all know where that went.... i did one time hit a 10 x 10 patch of the slope there that was so concetrated with coins it kept me busy for an hour.got a few silver jewelry there before.... obn has a good point about how fast that sand swallows up the gold..last year i found a guys gold ring 30 minutes after he lost it..it was already 4 inches deep..... i will be plundering the delmar coast 1 week from today..im so lookin forward to it but looks like im gonna have to get crafty to make it pay off...

I'm in VA Beach right now. I talked to a few hunters and the word is bleak. Not that good finds can't be found, but people that are finding things are working their rear ends off. My first time to VA Beach. A very nice town. No Max sightings as of yet. I think hunters on the east coast are waiting for that sand movement.
