Where would one find info on confederate campsites? Is there any sources that would tell approximate locations here in northern KY. I'm lucky enough to have found a Union campsite on our farm and have hit it pretty hard for the last year or so, but I'd sure like to find something CS(Like everyone else). I live in the Hardin and Meade county areas.

<STRONG>You could search the <EM>"Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies"</EM> for records on Kentucky (link below). You can also get David Poche's books (must have) <EM>"Finding Civil War Campsites In Rural Areas"</EM> and <EM>"Interpreting History From Relics Found In Civil War Campsites"</EM>.
Hope this helps,

Great reading material....I have the books by Poche. Thanks for the link WRD.

As mentioned, the OR's are a good starting point, and I do highly recommend Dave's books. They remain our number one sellers. You can get all 128 volumes of the OR's on CD-ROM for $69.95 plus shipping. We also carry a few CW map CD's. You should also look into some of the regimental histories of Confederate and Union troops. Much information can be found at your local Library. Diaries are another good source and most Libraries will have at least a few. You may need to check with the Lexington Library. I'm sure they can be found online.
