does the explorer seem to flex as you swing or do i have something wrong with mine Thx RonC

i check it and it goes in about 2.5in maybe its just diff from the sov it seems like it flexs when i swing fast might just be the plastic or lower shaft /going to farragut for a comp hunt will try others there thx for your imput HH RonC

you can't hunt with the explorer like some of the other machines like an xlt or tesoro with a fast swing speed. Go real slow for the best results. When you think you are going slow, cut the speed in half. HH, Randy

Ron,
I seem to notice mine doing this too lately and feel it is in the upper shaft, I put a wrap of tape on it and it seems better, but still feel a little bit yet. I tried a new uppershaft and it seemed OK so I figured my uppershaft is the problem, but I have the X1 probe on it so I cant change it.
If you get a chance try to put on wrap of a thin tape on it and see if it will make a difference, I used black electical tape.
Rick

If so it may need the new style control box and body. The old style body twists as the coil is moved.
You should not have much "Flex" provided that the upper shaft is inserted properly(upper shaft should be inserted about 1 inch into the control box shaft lock then locked.
